Well, well, here we are. Moveable type, allowing users the world over
to comment on my every-few-daily batch of trivialities.

On the off chance that anyone cares, he old stuff is still available, for the moment, from the old links – I haven’t migrated over all of my old entries yet. Shaver graciously gave me a script that I tried to shoehorn into fitting my own data, but because I am a marginally competent clod and Hell is other people’s cargo-culted Perl, my first attempt at an import ended up with some entries being (all those that had a line starting with “div”, suspiciously…) cut short, others being wildly misdated (I was not blogging regularly, for example, in the year zero, and we have yet to see if I’ll be blogging this December) so I’m going to take another run at that later in life, possibly when I don’t have to write multiprocessor homework-widgets for people who know far, far more about them than I do. Soon, I hope.

I’m hoping that, for most of you, this new site doesn’t look entirely like ass. I’ll add the old entries in soon, and recount the weekend, but for now, well, huzzah.

Oh, and – the old URL will keep working. If you happen to be the guy who links to me, or maybe the other one, don’t change a thing.

  1. Sure, commenting is great, but it doesn’t have the threading or the community feel of a livejournal.

  2. Mr. Monkeypants, that stands to reason: it has been mathematically proven that the only way to truly replicate the LiveJournal experience is to tie oneself down with decorative spikey chains and then to have ones head repeatedly kicked at by a 14-year old girl wearing too much eyeshadow screaming “I HATE ALL OF YOU!!”

Give or take a few percentage points of verisimilitude.

  4. Finally.

  5. All well and good, but what’s with hiding most of each entry behind a link? Are you shy or something?
